Participants in the discovery phase of the project will be up to 150 caregivers from low income pregnant families being served by the Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) that provides parent support to pregnant women in low-income, at-risk neighborhoods in Philadelphia. Additionally, a small group of pregnant families (5 pregnant mothers and 5 significant others) will be recruited to participate in 4 focus group sessions to respond and react to elements of the Duet Project curriculum as well as selective “brain tips” developed by the Vroom initiative. Measures participants’ self‐efficacy, locus of control, and knowledge of infant development will be assessed prior to, and immediately after focus group meetings.
